Meet the Designer behind Birch Creek Quilts...Deb Madir
Like many of you, I LOVE to quilt!
I have been quilting for 15 years and throughout those years, I have seen my quilting skills greatly improve (thank God), but also, my quilting styles have changed...and isn't that what's so wonderful about this "productive addiction"??
Along the way, I had the opportunity and pleasure to work in a quilt shop, part-time, and not only did I get to be around fun, creative quilters, I got to be around fun and fantastic fabrics! I started designing my own patterns 5 years ago and the rest, as they say, is history. It's funny what little encouragement it took to get me started...but what wonderful encouragement continues to come my way...so I just keep going! Thank You!
When starting a new design project, I try to envision something that is different...that which has not been seen over and over; is fresh, fun or whimsical; but most of all...it's a quilt I would enjoy having "hang around" my home!
All of BCQ patterns are "easy-to-start and easy-to-finish" projects and are sure to appeal to quilters of all skill levels! They feature straight-forward piecing methods, fusible or raw-edge applique techniques and deliver "a lot of bang for the buck!" The patterns are designed to have the quilt maker achieve great success, have some fun or learn a new technique and are very "embellishment-oriented". BCQ has been featured in The Quilter Magazine, Quick Quilts and Quiltmania. I have also had the honor to design for Marcus Fabrics.
